Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to operate an adventure tourism business that will serve ATV, snowmobilers, big and small game hunters and fly fishers from a site half a kilometer east of Badger, on the north shore of the Exploits River. The project will require the construction of an accommodations lodge, a storage shed and a parking lot that will be accessed via an upgrade as well as an extension of an existing road. All proposed construction on the 10.2 hectare site will be set back approximately 120 metres from the river shoreline. Construction is planned to start in May 2015 and end by August 2015 with operations to begin in the fall of 2015.

  • April 16, 2015 - The undertaking was registered.
  • May 22, 2015 - Deadline for public comments.
  • May 30, 2015 - The Minister’s decision is due.
  • July 2, 2015 - The Minister announced that the project is released.
