The Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment is proposing changes to the Trans Canada Highway (Channel-Port Aux Basques to Corner Brook) Protected Highway Zoning Plan, 2004. The proposed changes would allow residential development in Doyles and Tompkins.
The Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment is responsible for the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000. Protected Highway Zoning Plans are created under the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000.
Amendments to Protected Highway Zoning Plans are subject to a public process as outlined in the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000. A request for comments with respect to the proposed amendment was advertised in the September 16, 2015 edition of the Western Star.
