Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to construct and operate an adventure park located within the community of Colinet on Route 91, at Rocky River Falls. The adventure park will consist of a 1.75 kilometre hiking trail; a cottage development area; a festival area, stage and drivein; a 9.6 kilometre ATV/snowmobile trail; a 14 tower zip line; and a marina. Development will occur over a variety of terrain including scrub-forest, black spruce forest, heathland and marsh. The park is expected to increase tourism in the area. Construction is set to begin in the Spring of 2014.

  • April 10, 2014 - The undertaking was registered.
  • May 15, 2014 - Deadline for public comments.
  • May 25, 2014 - The minister’s decision is due.
  • June 10, 2014 - Environmental preview report (EPR)required.
  • August 14, 2014 - EPR Guidelines issued.
  • February 10, 2017 - EPR submitted for review.
  • March 17, 2017 - Deadline for public comments on the EPR.
  • March 27, 2017 - The minister's decision on the EPR is due.
  • June 29, 2017 - The minister announced that the EPR is deficient.
