Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

  • Project Description:The proponent proposes to upgrade an existing 3.5 kilometre All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Trail to access an existing cabin located near Shoal Peak from Tilt Hill on the Burin Peninsula . The trail is located approximately 13 kilometres north of the Town of St. Lawrence and will join the St. Lawrence Area Trail Association�s recreational trails. The trail will be constructed to a maximum width of 4 metres and will also be used for snowmobile access in winter.
  • June 6, 2007 - The undertaking was registered.
  • July 13, 2007 - Public comments are due.
  • July 21, 2007 - The Minister's decision is due.
  • August 23, 2007 - The Minister announced the project has been released from further environmental assessment review.
