Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

  • Project Description:
    The proponent proposes an 18 hole championship golf course, a driving range, club house/pro shop, an integrated residential component, a hotel, an R.V. park, commercial tourism lots, walking/ski trails and access to the present system of snowmobile trails. The development will be located on approximately 290 hectares to the east of the Town of Pasadena along the south side of the Trans Canada Highway. Access to the site will be via Exit 13 South-East service road extension. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in the April of 2004.
  • December 29, 2003 - The undertaking was registered.
  • February 3, 2004 - Public comments are due.
  • February 12, 2004 - The Minister's decision is due.
  • February 13, 2004 - The Minister announced that his decision has been extended to February 27, 2004.
  • April 19, 2004 - The Minister announced that the proponent must submit an Environmental Preview Report.
  • May 21, 2004 - The Minister announced that an Environmental Assessment Committee has been appointed and that Guidelines for preparation of an Environmental Preview Report have been issued.
  • September 10, 2004 - The Minister announced that the project has been withdrawn.
