Public Consultation on Proposed Amendments to the Burin Peninsula Highway (Route #210) and Bonavista Peninsula Highway (Route #230A), Provincial Protected Road Plans

In response to requests by applicants, the Local Governance and Planning Division of the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment is considering amending the following provincial protected road plans: Burin Peninsula Highway Zoning Plan and Highway Zoning Plan Bonavista Peninsula Highway R.R. 230, 1976 – 1981. The public consultation requirement for amending provincial protected road plans is outlined in section 14 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000.

For the proposed amendment to the Burin Peninsula Highway – Protected Road Plan, the applicant is requesting an amendment to accommodate a cottage lot and development off of the Old Baie de l’Eau Road. The subject property is adjacent to the Burin Peninsula Highway and is proposed to be rezoned from “Rural Conservation” to “Cottage”. For the proposed amendment to the Bonavista Peninsula Highway – Protected Road Plan, the applicant is requesting an amendment to accommodate a residential lot and development off of the Bonavista Peninsula Highway (Route #230A). The subject property is located in the Local Service District (LSD) of George’s Brook – Milton, north of the Town of Clarenville and is proposed to be rezoned from “Rural Conservation” to “Residential”.
